Just what I wanted for a new iPhone. A special “Thank You” to artist ‘Serge Averbukh’ for the addition, at my request, to the design of my Navy rating, the lightening bolts (sparks as they are/were called) in the middle of the CPO insignia. I asked; he came through….When I use my phone, it brings back fond memories of my 20-year Navy career…. Thanks Serge….

In the 1940s, Paul was a free-range child in Brooklyn, New York until his family and he moved to, what was then, the hinterlands of Miami, i.e., North Miami Beach. From there, over the years, he slowly migrated north to Cohutta, Georgia, where he has resided since 1979. After a stint in the U.S. Navy and a 30-year career in education he retired and pursued his lifelong hobby of photography. Years later, “just to entertain himself,” he said, he began painting. That 10-plus year journey has seen him through oil paint, acrylic and encaustic. Though he still dabbles in all three, encaustic painting occupies most of his time.
