The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

The morning of new years eve day, my daughter woke up at 6:00am! She eventually went back to sleep around 7:00 but instead of going back to bed myself, I headed towards downtown to take some photos as the city was waking up. Sunrise is around 8:00 right now so the sky was a nice before sunrise blue when I took this shot at 7:30.
